Velita Terms of Use
The short version
- Velita helps you log your baby's sleep and shows estimates, not instructions. It isn't medical advice, a medical device or a way to get help in an emergency.
- Velita is for adults aged 18 or over.
- Logging, your history, export and deletion stay free, always. That's our promise.
- Premium is optional. Apple or Google bills it, it renews automatically, and you can cancel in your store settings at least 24 hours before it renews.
- These terms never take away your rights as a consumer under Spanish and EU law.
1. About these terms
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and DuoDevApps (“we”, “us”), the maker of Velita: Baby Sleep Planner (“Velita”). They apply to the Velita apps for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch and for Android phones, foldables and tablets (and Wear OS watches when Velita arrives there), whether you got them from the App Store or Google Play, and to Velita's optional online services.
By using Velita, you accept these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data. If you got Velita from the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies (see section 14).
2. What Velita does
Velita lets you log naps, nights and night wakings, keep your baby's sleep history and see estimates of when the next sleep is likely: a range, with how sure Velita is and why. Velita Premium adds personal sleep windows, a plan for the day, What if… scenarios and detailed patterns.
Velita works on your device without an account. Optional family sync, with Sign in with Apple or Google, lets you share the log with people you invite. We keep improving Velita, so features may change over time; the free features in section 7 stay free.
3. Not medical advice
Please read this section carefully.
- Velita is not a medical device. It doesn't diagnose, treat, monitor or prevent any condition. It doesn't monitor breathing or any vital sign, and it doesn't reduce the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). It doesn't replace your pediatrician or other health professionals.
- Estimates, not a schedule. Velita's windows and plans are estimates based on the sleep you log and on typical ranges for age. They can be wrong, and many healthy babies sleep outside typical ranges.
- Your baby's needs come first. Feed your baby when hungry and follow their cues; never delay a feed or keep your baby awake to fit a window. If a health professional has given you instructions (for example, to wake your baby for feeds), follow them over anything Velita shows.
- Safe sleep. Follow your health service's safe-sleep advice for every sleep: place your baby on their back, on a firm, flat surface that isn't inclined, in a sleep area with no pillows, bumpers, blankets or soft toys; share a room, not a bed; and never fall asleep with your baby on a sofa or armchair. The safe-sleep information in Velita is general and doesn't replace professional advice.
- Not for emergencies. Call emergency services now (112 in the EU) if your baby has trouble breathing, turns blue, gray or very pale, is floppy or very hard to wake, or has a seizure. If your baby is under 3 months and has a temperature of 38 °C (100.4 °F) or higher, call your pediatrician right away. For anything else about sleep, breathing, feeding or development that worries you, contact your pediatrician.
4. Who can use Velita
Velita is for adults aged 18 or over: parents, legal guardians and other caregivers who use it with the permission of the baby's parents or guardians. It is not directed at children, and children must not use it or create an account. By entering information about a baby, you confirm that you are entitled to do so.
5. Accounts and family roles
- No account needed. You can use Velita on your device without an account.
- Family sync accounts. Family sync needs an account, created with Sign in with Apple or Google. Keep access to it secure: what happens through your account is your responsibility. Before anything is uploaded, Velita asks for your separate consent, as described in the Privacy Policy.
- Roles. The person who creates a family group is its first Parent. A Parent sees everything, logs, invites and removes people, changes roles and can delete the baby's profile; a Caregiver sees and logs, but can't invite; a Viewer sees, but can't log; a Sitter pass sees and logs for a limited time. A family group always keeps at least one Parent.
- Invite with care. Only invite people you trust with your baby's information, and give each one the role they need. Invitation codes are single use and expire after 7 days; share them only with the person you're inviting, never publicly.
- Shared history. Records logged in a family group are that family's shared history. If you leave, what you logged stays with the other members, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
- Deleting your account. You can delete your account at any time in Velita (Settings › Account & family). This deletes your cloud data as described in the Privacy Policy. Deleting the app or your account doesn't cancel a subscription (see section 8).
6. Acceptable use
Velita is made for caring for a baby. Please don't:
- use Velita unlawfully, to harm anyone, or to record information about a child you aren't entitled to record;
- try to access another family's data, or share invitation codes publicly;
- interfere with Velita or its servers, get around its security, App Check, Premium checks or limits, use bots or scrapers, or copy, decompile or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law allows it;
- write unlawful or offensive content in notes or names, or content that infringes other people's rights;
- sell, rent or sublicense Velita or access to it.
7. What stays free: our promise
Velita Premium is optional. These features stay free, always:
- Logging every sleep, day and night — including night mode and Lock Screen controls
- Your full history
- Correcting and editing any record
- Exporting all your data
- Deleting all your data
- Safe sleep information and help
- Typical-for-age windows
- Day-by-day charts and the weekly summary
- Sharing the log with one other adult who cares for your baby, like your partner
If you stop paying, everything above keeps working, and your data stays yours. No ads: we don't sell your data or share it for advertising. This is version 1 of our promise (10 October 2026). If this list ever changes, it will only grow.
9. Your content and our intellectual property
- Your data stays yours. You keep every right to what you enter in Velita. You allow us to store, sync and show it only as needed to provide Velita to you and to the people you choose, as described in the Privacy Policy.
- Velita is ours. The app, its design and texts, its estimates engine, the companions Numi, Mimo and Luma, and the Velita name and logo belong to DuoDevApps or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Velita on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, under these terms and the rules of the store you got it from. Some components are open-source software under their own licenses.
- Ideas. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve Velita, without any obligation to you.
10. Our responsibility
- We build Velita with care, but we can't promise that it will always be available or free of errors, or that its estimates will be accurate. Online features depend on services from Apple and Google and may be interrupted. Export your data from time to time if you want your own copy.
- If you are a consumer, you have the legal guarantees for digital content and services under Spanish law (the consolidated General Law for the Defense of Consumers and Users, Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007) and EU law. Nothing in these terms limits them.
- We are responsible under the law for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, and for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits a liability that the law doesn't allow us to exclude or limit.
- Otherwise, and as far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for losses that weren't reasonably foreseeable, or for losses caused by events beyond our reasonable control. Velita's estimates help you plan; decisions about your baby's care remain yours and your health professionals' (section 3).
11. Ending the agreement
- You can stop using Velita at any time: delete the app, delete your account in Velita and cancel any subscription in your store settings.
- We may suspend or close your access to Velita's online features (your account and family sync) if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect other families or the service. Unless the law or a safety reason prevents it, we'll tell you first and give you time to export your data.
- If we ever stop offering Velita or its online features, we'll tell you in advance, at least 30 days ahead where possible, so you can export your data.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. We'll update the date at the top. For important changes, we'll tell you in the app or on this page before they apply. Changes don't apply to the past. If you don't agree, you can stop using Velita and cancel your subscription before the changes apply. Our promise in section 7 can only grow.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer living in the European Union, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts of your place of residence. If something goes wrong, please write to us first at velita@duodevapps.com: we'll try to sort it out.
14. App Store and Google Play
- App Store. If you got Velita from Apple's App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) also applies to your use of the app. These terms are between you and DuoDevApps, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for Velita or its content, maintenance or support, and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of the EULA. Where the EULA and these terms differ on your license to use the app, the EULA applies to the copy you got from the App Store.
- Google Play. If you got Velita from Google Play, Google Play's terms apply to the download and to purchases. These terms are between you and DuoDevApps, not Google.
- Nothing in the store terms or in these terms limits your rights as a consumer.
